Alleyn’s Diary
Here is my transcription of the Diary and Account Book of Edward Alleyn, Founder of Dulwich College, which he kept for five years between 1617 and 1622. The ‘Diary' runs to 62 sheets (plus binding), and high-resolution images of all its pages may be found on the website https://henslowe-alleyn.org.uk/, which contains much else of great interest, particularly relating to the Elizabethan/Jacobean stage. I have also provided here an Introduction to the ‘Diary’, and a Glossary of the names of individuals mentioned in it.
